Enterprise Wireless Networking
WLC and RADIUS Authentication
New Brunswick Community College · Moncton, Canada
Project overview
Practice controller-based wireless configuration with VLAN integration and centralized authentication in Cisco Packet Tracer.
Technical problem
Design organizational wireless access that uses enterprise authentication rather than a shared wireless password.
Architecture and objectives
Conceptual illustration of the documented scope, not a recovered topology or proof of connectivity.
- Work with WLC dynamic interfaces, VLAN mappings, SSIDs and WLAN profiles.
- Integrate the wireless design with wired VLANs and 802.1Q trunks.
- Configure the WPA2-Enterprise and RADIUS authentication scope.
- Explore SNMP administration and investigate simulator feature constraints.
Environment and configuration
| Area | Documented scope |
|---|---|
| Environment | Cisco Packet Tracer simulation |
| Controller scope | Dynamic interfaces and WLAN profiles |
| Wired integration | VLAN mappings / 802.1Q trunking |
| Authentication | WPA2-Enterprise / RADIUS |
| Management | SNMP administration scope |
Configuration reference
Design and diagnostic reference; not a verbatim successful execution log.
Validation checklist
- Verify WLAN-to-VLAN mapping
- Compare WLC and RADIUS authentication settings
- Check wired trunk and VLAN reachability
- Inspect simulated client authentication
- Record Packet Tracer feature limitations separatelyTroubleshooting
Treat missing simulator features as Packet Tracer constraints, not evidence of a physical-controller fault. Separate WLAN configuration from successful client authentication.
Security considerations
Do not publish RADIUS shared secrets or SNMP credentials. Use centralized authentication and scoped management access in the design.
Evidence and verified outcomes
A wireless submission with four images was located. Inspection identifies small-router management coursework, not the separate recovered WLC scope. This is a simulation, not a physical enterprise deployment.
Historical academic work. No current cloud service, production deployment, performance metric or certification is implied.
Skills demonstrated in the documented scope
Screenshot evidence
Original coursework was located locally. No unreviewed screenshots are published here.
Source and validation notes
Based on the owner-supplied NBCC technical portfolio history and the bounded local evidence described above. Raw submissions and configuration exports are withheld from public download pending review for credentials, personal information and publication suitability.

Recovered WLC scope: VLAN interfaces, SSID/WLAN profiles, wired trunks, WPA2-Enterprise/RADIUS and SNMP. Record association, authentication, addressing and reachability separately.

SSID: <lab-ssid>
VLAN interface: <vlan-id>
Authentication: WPA2-Enterprise / RADIUS

SNMP management: <approved-management-scope>The recovered Lab 6 report contains small-router wireless management; it is not proof of separate WLC/RADIUS work. No matching WLC export, final topology, successful RADIUS authentication or SNMP test was found.
